# Christian Tabart

Christian Tabart, doing business as Christian Automatic, was a French pinball manufacturer and designer based in Montgeron, active from 1984 to 1986. Rather than building original hardware, the company converted existing Gottlieb machines, replacing the playfield, rule set, and artwork to create a new game, reclad in painted sheet-metal panels that covered the donor's wood cabinet and backbox.

Three conversions are known. Sahara Love (1984) was built on Gottlieb's 1978 Sinbad, Le Grand 8 (1985) converted another Gottlieb title, and L'Hexagone (April 1986), built on Gottlieb's 1979 Genie, finished the line with backglass and playfield art that caricatured French cultural stereotypes; about 150 were made. The conversions ran on stock Gottlieb circuit boards apart from a sound card of Tabart's own design, and Tabart made no further pinball games after 1986.
