# Maguinas Automaticas Computerizadas, S.A.

Maguinas Automáticas Computerizadas, S.A. (MAC S.A.) is a Spanish pinball manufacturer founded in the Madrid area in 1982 by former Petaco engineers and became known for keeping domestic pinball development alive during the 1980s and 1990s through engineering-driven, compact electronics and modular, conversion-friendly designs. MAC’s proprietary “MAC System IV” platform emphasized modular electronics that reduced operator costs and enabled easy re-theming and conversion kits, a strategy central to the company’s product lineup. Notable releases include the solid-state, space-themed Mac’s Galaxy (1986) built on the System IV architecture, followed by Space Train (1987) and the Mac Jungle conversion kit (1987), with later limited-production returns such as a 1990s Mac Jungle and NBA Mac (1996). Although MAC’s total pinball output was modest, its focus on hardware innovation, modularity, and cost-effective conversion kits made it a significant contributor to Spain’s pinball history before the company effectively exited pinball production after 1996 and shifted into other electronics and gaming sectors.
