At the 13th hour of the 13th day, Barrels of Fun revealed a stunning surprise. ![__wf_reserved_inherit](https://media.kineticist.com/posts/barrels-of-fun-reveals-winchester-mystery-house/inline/68ed44465f5e55ee18884c8b_560992793_122264097824069794_957237729380268245_n.jpg) I had speculated in [last week's This Week in Pinball newsletter](https://twip.kineticist.com/p/13th-hour) that Barrels of Fun could be up to their old tricks, and that the Friday teaser might be something more than a personnel announcement. Turns out that suspicion was correct!  ‍ It's my understanding after talking with the Barrels team that [Winchester Mystery House](/pinball-machines/winchester-mystery-house-2025) in a way represents the end of Phase One of the company, in that it's the last IP they secured before even starting production of a game. So maybe that means we'll get some more recognizable, in-demand IP from them in games moving forward. ‍ Still, from the little I've seen in the minutes following the reveal, this looks like it could be quite a fun game! ## New Team Members Join Barrels of Fun Of course, we did get some news of new team members joining the Houston-based pinball manufacturer. Jeff Dodson, [who we recently interviewed](/post/jeff-dodson-dune-interview), joins for more audio and music work, Jeff Underwood joins for electrical and prototype engineering, and Karl DeAngelo (IE Pinball) joins the team as a new designer. ## The New Game: Winchester Mystery House As part of the reveal of new crew members, we also received all the details of a brand new machine, designed by Karl DeAngelo.
