Ted Lasso

Discussion of a Ted Lasso pinball machine has emerged within the pinball community, with the theme drawing mentions across enthusiast forums. Fans have noted several compelling connections that make the property viable for pinball, including star Jason Sudeikis being a documented pinball enthusiast who would likely provide enthusiastic voice callouts for the game. Community members have highlighted that Ted Lasso would fill a notable gap in pinball themes, as soccer football games have been virtually absent from the market for over two decades. Some speculation connected the property to designer Jack Danger, whose personal style of goofy and emphatically kind gameplay would align well with the show's tone. The timing of the show's third season release in March 2023 and its connection to the Foo Fighters, with Sudeikis citing their song My Hero as inspiration for the series, have also fueled discussion. A Ted Lasso pinball machine would offer rich possibilities for translation to the playfield. The visual package could incorporate the iconic AFC Richmond branding, the team's bright colors, and recognizable locations like the locker room, the Crown and Anchor pub, and Nelson Road stadium. Gameplay mechanics could center around soccer elements like penalty kicks, corner kicks, and building team chemistry through multiball modes representing the ensemble cast of characters. The show's extensive use of popular music and its original score would provide strong audio appeal, while callouts could feature Ted's folksy wisdom, Coach Beard's deadpan delivery, Roy Kent's profanity-laced motivation, and Rebecca's character arc. The theme's emphasis on optimism and teamwork, combined with its broad appeal beyond traditional action-oriented pinball themes, could attract a diverse audience including casual players and collectors seeking family-friendly arcade content.
