About

Achille and Chalvignac was a pinball maker in Paris, France, built around the partnership of Michel Achille and Philippe Chalvignac.

Their machine, Nosferatu, arrived in October 1985. It was a solid-state game on a vampire theme and an original design rather than a conversion of an existing title. Achille laid out the playfield and shared the concept and the programming with Chalvignac, who also designed the control hardware: a two-processor set built around the Z80, one processor for the game and one for sound. The artwork began as drawings by Jean-Philippe Roussilhe, with production art by Mike Martinelli.

Ten machines were built, plus a prototype, and serial numbers 0001 through 0010 were engraved on the sides of the cabinets. No other title is recorded under the Achille and Chalvignac name.
