About
Bandai Namco is a Japanese entertainment group built from the toy company Bandai and the arcade maker Namco. Its amusement unit plans, develops, produces and sells amusement machines, a business that sits alongside the group's video game and toy operations.
Its pinball work is recent and narrow. In January 2019 the company put a head-to-head machine called Super Panic Ball on test in Japan, a two-player design that starts with a single ball and opens into a multiball round. Later that month, at the Japan Amusement Expo at Makuhari Messe, the group's Bandai Namco Technica arm showed Super Panic Ball beside Pac-Man Panic, a Pac-Man-licensed version of the same machine with a defence button and a mode that floods the field with balls. In both, the object is to shoot the ball into the opponent's goal.
Bandai Namco Technica also brought Jersey Jack Pinball's Wizard of Oz, The Hobbit and Pirates of the Caribbean to its booth at that show, as the distributor handling overseas products for the group in Japan.
