About

CIC Play S.L. was a Spanish pinball and arcade-game manufacturer based in Mataró, just north of Barcelona, founded in 1984 by José María Arribas Gil after he split from his partner at the arcade maker Niemer, which the two had run since 1977. It built three pinball machines in the mid-1980s — Galaxy Play (1986), Kidnap (circa 1986), and Galaxy Play 2 (1987) — all running on hardware based on MAC S.A.'s System IV platform.

Pinball was a small part of the company's output; CIC Play spent most of its run making video-game cabinets and coin-operated dart and skill machines, including its long-running King Dart series, which kept it in business into the 2000s. Arribas has described retiring around 2013, and the company's formal dissolution was recorded in 2017.
