Coffee Mat

Coffee-Mat was a short-lived American pinball manufacturer that operated in the mid-to-late 1970s as the "Coffee-Mat Amusement Division" of Coffee-Mat, a coffee vending machine maker based in Kenilworth, New Jersey, and a division of Flagstaff Corporation. Its first pinball release, Wipe-Out, shipped in September 1976. It was the company's only full-size cabinet machine, built on solid-state hardware supplied by Numax Electronics of Hauppauge, New York.

Coffee-Mat followed with Star Battle, first sold in February 1977. Period trademark filings show the Star Battle mark for pinball equipment was jointly held by Coffee-Mat and Wico Corporation, a supplier of arcade hardware. An unrelated cocktail-table pinball also called Star Battle appeared the following year from Century Consolidated Industries. The company's third and final known title, Cosmic Wars, followed in 1978.

No further pinball releases from Coffee-Mat surfaced after Cosmic Wars; the company's Star Battle trademark, left unrenewed, was formally cancelled in 1986.
