About

ManilaMatic was a pinball manufacturer based in Rome, Italy — the trade name under which the company MM Computer Games, run by Antonio Manili, sold its machines. It built solid-state pinball from 1986 through 1988.

The company designed its own control platform, the System 80 Combo, built around the same 6502-based hardware family Gottlieb used in its System 80 boards. Four titles ran on it: Out Law (1986), a rework of Gottlieb's Tag Team; Defender (1987), a rework of Gottlieb's Arena; Master (1988); and Top Sound (1988). ManilaMatic also produced Pinball Shop (1987) and an undated title, Star King. Out Law's backglass borrowed imagery of actors Bo Svenson and Mark Gregory from the Italian action films Thunder and Thunder II.

No ManilaMatic titles are documented after 1988, and no source traces the company's pinball activity past that point.
