I.D.I.

I.D.I. was an Italian pinball manufacturer that built its catalog around conversion kits, buying up decommissioned hardware from established manufacturers and grafting on new playfields, backglasses, and artwork. Tiger Woman and Sky Warrior both ran on Gottlieb's System 1 electronics, reusing the playfield layouts of Gottlieb's Jungle Princess and Fast Draw, while Movie Masters was built on Bally hardware, carrying the playfield of Bally Midway's 1984 Black Pyramid.

Ice Mania, a widebody kit closely modeled on Premier's 1985 Ice Fever, is nearly identical in backglass art to a separately produced Ice Mania from the Dutch manufacturer Jac van Ham — two distinct machines running entirely different electronics. Little else about the company is reliably documented: no founding date, city, or founder appears in surviving sources, and its documented activity sits in the early-to-mid 1980s.
