Maresa

Maquinas Recreativas Sociedad Anonima, known as Maresa, built pinball machines in Madrid from the early 1960s. Several of its more than 40 electromechanical titles were close copies of American Gottlieb machines with no confirmed license behind them — King Ball (1965) reworked Gottlieb's Rack-A-Ball with different artwork, and later titles including Big Brave and Crescendo followed the same pattern.

The company's catalog through the 1970s ranged across western, travel, and sports themes, with titles like Chamonix, Dakota, and Laramie alongside card and sports games. Maresa's last machine under its own name was Metropolis, released in 1978 and carried forward the same year by Explomatic in a version of its own, as Maresa's run as a manufacturer ended.
