Las Vegas, released in 1978, was Mattel Electronics' only venture into full-size, home pinball machines. Built with solid-state electronics and a digital scoring display, the casino-themed game gave players four flippers and room for up to four players in a compact cabinet sized for a den or rec room rather than a coin-operated arcade floor. A control panel Mattel called the Pit Boss let players pick between three game variations — Beginner's Luck, Cool Hand, and High Roller — along with handicap and double-or-nothing modes.

Mattel Electronics, a division of Mattel headquartered in Hawthorne, California, is otherwise remembered for its handheld electronic games rather than full-size machines — Las Vegas stood apart as the company's one attempt at a true arcade-style pinball table, aimed at home buyers rather than commercial locations.
