Peyper is a Spanish pinball manufacturer founded in Madrid in 1977 by designer Eulogio Pingarrón and financier Juan Paredes, renowned for original pinball concepts, distinctive playfield mechanisms and a focus on domestic solid-state pinball design that set it apart from contemporaries. Beginning with the electro-mechanical Tally Hoo!! (1977), the company transitioned into electronic solid-state machines with standout titles such as Odin (1985) and Nemesis (1986), showcasing Pingarrón’s creativity and bold artwork-driven themes. Peyper introduced innovative features like “El Movimiento”—round knobs on the cabinet that shift the playfield to let players steer the ball without tilting—featured on games such as Wolf Man and Odisea Paris-Dakar, a mechanical innovation that won the company favor among collectors and players for novel gameplay and engineering. Despite creative success, Peyper struggled as arcades declined, releasing its final title Sir Lancelot in 1994 and ceasing operations by the late 1990s, yet the brand remains celebrated in Spain and among international pinball enthusiasts for its Madrid-made machines, original themes and lasting contributions to pinball design and innovation.
