About
Riot Pinball LLC was a small pinball design outfit based in St. Paul, Minnesota, built around designer Scott Gullicks and programmer/sound designer Frank Gigliotti. Their first machine, Wrath of Olympus, started as a virtual pinball simulation that Gullicks converted into a physical, Greek mythology-themed game. In late 2014 Riot Pinball arranged for Spooky Pinball to manufacture the machine in a run capped at 250 units, opening pre-orders with a $1,000 deposit due January 1, 2015 toward a 100-order minimum. The minimum wasn't reached, and the planned Spooky-built run never happened. Wrath of Olympus instead shipped as a run of six units, dated September 2015 and running on a Multimorphic P-ROC control system.
Riot Pinball's next design was Legends of Valhalla, a Norse mythology machine built by Gullicks and Gigliotti as a homebrew prototype. They showed it at Pinball Expo in Chicago in 2019, then sold the concept and rights to American Pinball, which manufactured, marketed, and distributed the game through its own dealer network. American Pinball released Legends of Valhalla in 2021 as its fourth production title.
