Sentinel Inc.

Sentinel was the name Magnavox — the North American Philips subsidiary better known for televisions and the early Odyssey consoles — used for its 1970s home-pinball program. Rather than coin-operated machines for arcades, these were pinball games built for retail sale as home toys, marketed by another Magnavox unit, General Home Products Corp., under the Wonder Wizard trademark; a second licensee, Gulliver Products, also sold Sentinel-built games.

Between 1977 and 1978 the line produced five documented titles — Flying Aces, Demolition Derby, C.B. Charlie, Star Explorer, and Star Raid — all running the same electronics, cabinet, and playfield, distinguished only by their artwork, and built from simple logic circuitry rather than the microprocessor boards arriving in arcade pinball at the same time. No further pinball activity is documented after 1978, and the Wonder Wizard trademark was cancelled in 1983.
