About
Sport Matic, S.A. was a Spanish pinball manufacturer incorporated in Barcelona on 28 May 1984. Rather than developing its own control systems, the company built its games on Playmatic's MPU 3 platform, with electronics designed and built by EFO, S.A., the Barcelona firm that also supplied Playmatic itself. Its first machine, Flash Man, was a four-player, science-fiction-themed solid-state table released in 1984.
The company's documented catalog runs to just three games. Terrific Lake (1987), a horror-themed four-player machine with synthesized sound and LED score displays, was its last known release, and a third title, Golf, survives only as an undated prototype known from backglass photographs. No Sport Matic machines are documented after 1987.
