The Valley Company, Subsidiary of Walter Kidde & Co., Inc.

The Valley Company was primarily a Bay City, Michigan manufacturer of coin-operated pool tables, operating at the time as a subsidiary of Walter Kidde & Co., Inc. In 1978 the company released its only pinball machine, Spectra IV, a four-player solid-state cocktail table built around a rotating playfield: rather than players circling the cabinet to take a turn, the entire play surface spins on a lazy-Susan mechanism so each player's station comes around to face them.

The rotation is manual, spun by hand rather than by motor, with slip rings carrying power and signal across the turning joint. Spectra IV was one of only two rotating-playfield cocktail pinball machines released during the era, the other being Midway's Rotation VIII. Valley did not release another pinball title.
