Marsa Play

Marsa Play is a Spanish pinball manufacturer based in Viator, Almería, best known for New Canasta, a modern remake of INDER’s 1986 Canasta that brought classic basketball pinball gameplay into the 2010s. New Canasta debuted in April 2010 and highlights Marsa Play’s focus on modernizing vintage themes with a TFT-LCD backbox score display, full LED illumination, contactless switches, under-playfield magnets for ball detection and other contemporary hardware upgrades that enhance play and reliability. Designed by Antonio Cruz, the basketball-themed cabinet preserves the original layout’s flow while adding features like pop bumpers, multi-bank drop targets, a spinning target, camera in the backbox and multi-color upper playfield arch lighting for a refreshed player experience. Marsa Play produced a limited run of prototypes and small production examples as a boutique Spanish builder, positioning the company as a specialist in reviving and modernizing classic Spanish pinball titles for collectors and operators seeking unique, modernized retro machines.
