About
Corwin “Bug” Emery is a rising figure in the modern pinball industry, recognized primarily for his design and creative leadership at Spooky Pinball. He was introduced to pinball at an early age through his father, Charlie Emery, and gained practical experience by helping to re-theme and build custom pinball machines before Spooky Pinball was formally established. From these hands-on beginnings, Bug grew into a key contributor at the company, participating in assembly, hosting the Spooky Pinball Podcast, and eventually co-designing several games that combine classic arcade mechanics with immersive thematic elements.
Among his most notable projects are Halloween (2021) and Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! (2023), both of which emphasize unique playfield layouts and extensive thematic integration. He has also been part of releases like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Looney Tunes, and Evil Dead, each featuring inventive mechanical elements, storytelling-focused rule sets, and careful attention to licensed details. Bug’s willingness to explore distinct pop-culture licenses—ranging from horror properties to family-friendly cartoons—reflects his broader goal of attracting diverse audiences to pinball, and has helped solidify Spooky Pinball’s reputation as an innovative boutique manufacturer.
