About This Theme
The "John Wick" franchise, beginning with the eponymous film in 2014, has become a modern classic in the action genre. Directed by Chad Stahelski, a former stuntman, and featuring Hollywood A-lister Keanu Reeves as the title character, "John Wick" revitalized the action movie landscape with its stunningly choreographed fight scenes and its 'gun-fu' style - a distinctive blend of martial arts and firearms. The series tells the story of John Wick, a retired hitman who is forced back into the underworld after a personal tragedy, showcasing an escalating series of conflicts within a dark and stylish criminal underworld.
One of the unique aspects of the "John Wick" franchise is its intricate world-building. While the plot is driven by John's personal journey of vengeance and redemption, the narrative unfolds within a fascinating and meticulously crafted world. This underworld is bound by a detailed set of rules and traditions, and populated by a colorful array of characters, from fellow assassins to powerful crime lords. Each sequel has broadened this universe, delving deeper into the lore of the mysterious Continental Hotel and the High Table.
