Summary
Star Race dies mid-exhibition; hosts discuss licensing lessons from Disney's Galaxy Edge failures.
Chris Friebus and Jared Morgan discuss a Star Race pinball machine experiencing catastrophic MPU failure during an exhibition, requiring a replacement logic board and connector rebuild. The conversation shifts to Disney's Galaxy Edge underperformance, licensing strategy challenges in both theme parks and pinball digital releases (Zen Pinball), and a comedic segment reviewing terrible mobile pinball games.
BPAC event at the Ekka is over and Star Race couldn't quite make the distance. Listen to find out what happened to the old girl and the lessons learnt from operating old machines on-location.We also cover some sentiment that is growing towards Zen Studios about their lack of release information and that this means they are struggling.????There is also a session about craptacular "pinball" games on iOS including audio. I've left the audio and commentary in, but you might want to go check out the Twitch stream of this episode to see the games in action. A picture really does paint 1000 words here.
