Stern SAM Wheel of Fortune CPU/Sound Board Repair - No Sound
Stern SAM Wheel of Fortune CPU/Sound Board Repair - No Sound Replacing the PCM1755DBQ has repaired the sound in every S.A.M. board I've ever worked on (going from no sound at all to full sound). The only other failure I've personally witnessed in the sound section of the S.A.M. MPU was failure of one/both 10uf tantalum caps adjacent to this part. In that single case, the audio exhibited a background "hiss" reminiscent of old audio tape decks.
