Replay Magazine Podcast - Linda Fernandez

Episode 15!!! This month, the RePlay Podcast is proud to present our conversation with Hawaii’s Linda Fernandez. For those unfamiliar, she represents more than a century of providing fun and joy to communities and families. She and her late husband Kane were inducted into 2026 class of the AAMA’s Amusement Industry Hall of Fame, and Linda also happens to be the first woman we’ve featured in our series. E.K. Fernandez, Kane’s father, got the fun started when he founded EK Fernandez Shows in 1903, running carnivals across the Hawaiian islands and earning him the moniker of the “Barnum of the Pacific.” In the 1970s, a rained-out outdoor event led them to create an “indoor carnival,” which grew into the multi-location Fun Factory family fun centers we know today with locations in Hawaii and on the mainland. Being among the pioneering women in the coin-op business is but a small part of the impact Linda has made – and continues to make – as a leader in the industry. First and foremost is family, from hers to the extended family of every person who walks through their doors. (And speaking of family, the fourth generation is involved, and you’ll learn a bit about them, too.) You’ll enjoy getting to know Linda in this conversation with host Randy Chilton – she’s smart, charming, kind, gracious and all about hospitality.
