Episode 183 – Classless Tangents

Slam Tilt breaks down 2021 Twippies: Godzilla dominates, Reby Hardy wins homebrew, hosts debate voting quality.

Slam Tilt Podcast 183 features hosts Ron Hallett and Bruce Nightingale with guests Zachary Fry, Raymond Davidson, and Seth discussing the 2021 Twippies awards held live at Texas Pinball Festival. The episode provides detailed breakdown of all Twippies categories, revealing Godzilla dominated with wins across music/sound, theme integration, toys/gimmicks, rules, animations, callouts, best mod, artwork, and playfield gameplay: sparking debate about voting legitimacy and the influence of exposure/marketing over objective game quality. The hosts discuss homebrew category winner Ferris Bueller's Day Off (a re-theme by Reby Hardy), Zach Fry's original homebrew "Poker by Zach" placing fifth, and broader observations about the Twippies functioning more as a "People's Choice" popularity contest than merit-based awards.
