Spooky Pinball posted a teaser today for its next machine, and it's The Goonies. The 13-second video, titled "Never Say Die," opens on a pirate skull with an eye patch lit by a match, then a drawn-out "Hey you guys!" plays over The Goonies logo before the date card, "November Thirteenth."
So far, Spooky hasn't shown the machine, named a price or said who's on the team. A Friday the 13th date suits a company called Spooky, though, and November is when it usually shows new games (Beetlejuice on November 14 last year, Evil Dead on November 22 the year before).
The Goonies has been rumored as Spooky's next game for a long time, and it's been #1 on the Kineticist Hype Index nine times since May, most recently on October 18 (#4 this week). In April, we found a Goonies logo inside every public Beetlejuice code update.
As for art, Christopher Franchi, who drew Spooky's Evil Dead and Beetlejuice, signed an exclusive deal with Spooky in 2024, so expect him on The Goonies too.
The run is rumored to be 1,300 games plus 85 SLEs, and there's been talk in the community for a while that most Goonies spots are already accounted for at Spooky-affiliated distributors, after how well Beetlejuice sold. Nothing official from Spooky on either, of course, and orders haven't opened. If you want one, I'd call your distributor before November 13. On Pinside, a fan asked what time that day they could call Spooky directly if their distributor was full, and SpookyLuke from Spooky answered "10am CST."
