We Played Star Wars Fall of the Empire with Kineticist and Nudgecast! Part 1
It’s the Season 2 Premiere! We’re at the Stern Factory to check out their newest release, Star Wars Fall of the Empire! We chat with Colin Alsheimer from Kineticist as well as Ian Jacoby and Shane...
Highlights
- Star Wars: Fall of the Empire is the first Stern Star Wars game based on the original trilogy since the 2017 Steve Richie version
- The new Star Wars game uses Spike 3 platform, introducing it for the first time in a Stern Star Wars machine
- The screen is 18.5 inches with higher resolution and 256 times more colors than previous Spike 2 screens
- Fall of the Empire draws from Episodes 5 and 6 (Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi), not just Return of the Jedi
- All three versions (Pro/Premium/LE) of Star Wars will support Bluetooth connectivity via Raspberry Pi 4 architecture
- The game features original artwork rather than licensed/photoshopped assets, unlike the Richie version
- John Borg describes Fall of the Empire as more forgiving than typical Borg games like Metallica or Aerosmith
- The AT-AT (Walker) feature doesn't activate on the Pro model; only appears on Premium/LE

“This is fun. It's pinball. All pinball is sort of fun right”
“I think they've done enough here to differentiate it from the Richie version to sort of make it an interesting product on its own”
“This feels like it has everything. The art is amazing... it's all original too which surprised me”
“The scores now have their own larger framed area around it, which is actually really, I think, a big improvement”
“it feels a little iphone-y... one more thing... but no it's a nice upgrade”
“I wasn't fishing for a compliment. I really appreciate you calling”
“I brought my dad with me this time... it's fun to share it with them at least. Yeah, it's like a window into your world”
