Synopsis
Don visited Stern and Jersey Jack Pinball, playing X-Men LE and Avatar CE/LE machines. He directly compares the two games, concluding Avatar is objectively a better-built machine (superior materials, radcals vs decals, hydro-dipped armor, UV playfield effects) but stops short of declaring it the better game. X-Men remains fresh in his mind from recent review. Avatar's CE playfield features innovative 3D-depth UV ink effects requiring chemistry PhDs and November production start; day/night eclipse cycle, lower playfield crab battle with 3/4-inch ball, complex submarine shots, and tight layout packed with features.
