About
Jack Danger, known professionally as "Dead Flip," is a prominent figure in modern pinball, initially gaining recognition by pioneering pinball live-streaming on Twitch around 2013. His charismatic approach and educational streams significantly expanded pinball's online presence, introducing the game to a broader and younger audience. In 2021, Danger transitioned from a Stern Pinball ambassador to a full-time designer, debuting with Jurassic Park Home Edition, praised for innovative elements such as a unique jump ramp designed specifically for casual players and home settings.
Danger's subsequent designs, notably Foo Fighters (2023) and The Uncanny X-Men (2024), solidified his reputation for creativity and originality. Foo Fighters was celebrated for inventive features like the "Deadpost," a retractable ball-save mechanism, and multiple crossover shots that defied conventional pinball design. This blend of playful layout, kinetic gameplay, and thematic storytelling earned both commercial success and critical acclaim. His "Danger Room" mechanism in The Uncanny X-Men further received the prestigious TWIPY Innovation of the Year award in 2024.
Danger's impact extends beyond his designs; he reshaped industry marketing by integrating real-time streaming events into game launches and fostering direct community engagement. His approachable style influenced pinball culture, bridging analog and digital gaming communities and inspiring a new generation of players, streamers, and homebrew designers. Through these contributions, Danger continues to significantly shape modern pinball’s evolution and cultural resurgence.
