DPP #160 "EVIL DEAD gameplay impressions!"
Hands-on review!I was very fortunate to be at the right place at the right time for Spooky’s lapse of judgement in letting me play their new game!I rushed straight home and tried to record my thoughts from memory for y’all! Can’t wait to play it again!
Kineticist’s take
Evil Dead gameplay impressions: densely packed with innovative mechanisms, fair shot design, Franchi art excellent.
Synopsis
Don's first hands-on gameplay impressions of Spooky Pinball's Evil Dead machine reveal a design philosophy centered on mechanical density and interaction. The game features numerous innovative mechanisms including a sling flipper, double-barrel shotgun shells, animated deadite heads, possessed cabin flap, lower playfield with full-size ball, and servo-controlled character toys, all integrated into a widebody layout that plays like a narrowbody without feeling cramped.
