Summary

Flip N Flip n Out Pinball Podcast reads listener confessions and discusses horror pinball wishlist.

In this casual, confession-themed episode of the Flip N Out Pinball Podcast, co-hosts Ken Crone and Greg Kmiec discuss Tales from the Crypt restoration, horror pinball themes (Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Child's Play, Poltergeist), and read humorous listener-submitted "pinball confessions": ranging from marketing tactics to spouses, tournament rule violations, high score cheating, and personal mishaps. The episode emphasizes community engagement and lighter fare than typical industry news.

Highlights

Tales from the Crypt restoration required full teardown and heavy polishing work; Greg initially considered it too rough for his home but finished and kept it in the basement after successful cleaning with a Harbor Freight tumbler and Lucas Oil gunmetal polish
Friday the 13th pinball licensing is a nightmare due to fragmented IP rights held across multiple parties, according to Spooky (conveyed via Greg's earlier conversations)
Spooky has released Evil Dead and Halloween pinball machines, establishing themselves as leaders in horror-themed pins
Ghostbusters pinball contains a screaming banshee feature (coded by Dwight) that produces a blood-curdling scream intended to startle players
Greg owns a Lost World machine with a prominent headlock key that differs from modern Stern designs
Tournament players take rule violations (like exploiting stuck balls during multiball) very seriously and react aggressively to cheating
Raymond from overseas obtained signatures from Slash, Axl Rose, and Duff McKagan on a Guns N' Roses pinball apron through Eric Meunier arrangement with the band
Guns N' Roses pinball was released in 2020

From the creator

We asked our listeners to reveal their deepest, darkest pinball secrets, and they delivered. Some were bold enough to post publicly, while others slipped in anonymously with stories too wild to put their name on. From sneaky guerrilla marketing tactics on unsuspecting spouses, to hangover disasters at tournaments, to "creative story-telling" on what a machine really cost... nothing was off limits. Ken and Greg even step up with confessions of their own. Special THANK YOU to everyone who contributed!
