Bumped to S16 over on Phoenix 2. Learning charts under a waltz notation can be tricky at times, but they can still be a joy to listen to! Chart is yet to be done in an arcade setting, will modify the description once I have access.
I'm getting better at reading 16th notes; here's hoping that'll be reflected the same way when going out and moving at 9 or more steps per second. Euphorianic, I'm looking at you. Now that Arcade mode is arriving with full doubles charts. We'll see how that plays out. All songs cleared from the Arcade section of the game will be marked as such.
This soccer themed table encourages goal shots and getting the ball to the upper flippers! The only problem is the mini-bumper in the center that will block shots, and it can even be the cause of many outlane drains. The uber-powered slings and power inlanes are also culprits. Thankfully, the ease of access for multiball, plus scoring from the ramps and goals, make up for this. 3-ball, medium slope.
Scoring goals? Check. Training skills and goalkeeping? Check. Hitting moving defenders on a playfield acting as drop targets? Double check. Any soccer pinball game that has satisfying shots, especially for goals, is a good game. This is one of them. Table difficulty and grinding, though, is fairly high, considering the amount of saves needed and the endurance in clearing all five elite skills.
xi's songs are among some of the greatest to listen to, especially considering quite a few others are among the lineup right now. One more is arriving right away to Phoenix 2, and that's perhaps one of the fastest BPM's to ever exist. SS+ / 988,000 on the real arcade cabinet, falling just short.
Sometimes, being proactive with the outlane posts won't end up with the result intended, either due to the ball bouncing too high or being too far out of reach from the post itself. Extra balls earned through drop targets help immensely, as are the spinner and end of ball bonus. The saucer special, not so much, due to its infrequency. Simulation, 5 ball game. 20 million is no joke....weird how this is also exactly 9:01, like Earth Wind Fire.
Great game, making as much use of the dangerous scoring opportunities for what looks like little gain, at first. Lanes, drops, and bonus multipliers are key to a high score. Even though the lanes and targets around the bumpers will give extra chances to succeed, down the middle feeds are still a direct possibility from the plunge. Simulation, 3 ball, and a lucky total distance.

DM Ashura previously worked on songs for Dance Dance Revolution...to later work on songs for Pump It Up, including this one. He then casually ribs DDR a few times in the lyrics. Take that, Konami. There are several other Easter eggs in this song, both in the lyrics and in the background, including songs you'll only see in select games in the series.

Anyone who is new to this game (or any rhythm game in general), do NOT be afraid or intimidated! Even I had to start on the basic levels a few years ago, and my stamina needed work. It's wild to think how much I've improved since starting, and all it takes is practice and getting to move.
The overall theme of this game, as heard in promotional material leading up to its release. Several callbacks exist in the background, including those that have yet to make it in the PC port. Andamiro knows just how difficult the arcade charts will get, so this is a good idea of what to expect when Phoenix 2 arrives. That said, the game partly helped with my reading in anticipation, so I can adjust my footwork on the real deal. Currently plateaued on this difficulty level...for now.
Dialed down slightly from full doubles, in favor of ease of use with the keyboard. I'd play this a bit more often in the arcade, but unfortunately, Premium mode is in the way. Here's hoping Phoenix 2 will change this. This is another game series I enjoyed playing growing up, now on Steam (albeit online only for now). Due to the differences between this and arcade variants, a new playlist will contain content only for R!SE.
Smash TV and Robotron meets Gauntlet? Sign me up! The game is rather quick and easy to learn especially when one is already familiar with the above games, but with additional roguelite mechanics and upgrades, there's always this "one more game" feel for a higher score.
