Built in a former movie theater, the Appalachian Pinball Museum in Hendersonville, NC feels grand when you enter this retro arcade experience. Placards on each machine explain its history as you go from playing a shooting gallery game from the 60's to playing a newly released pinball machine. Grab a can of beer and try your hand at Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Tales from the Crypt or Twilight Zone. A $5 cover charge at the door includes play for all the games. Player 1UP also has weekly pinball tournaments. Do not miss the bacon cheese fries and the cinnamon sugar fries with icing to dip.

Remember when malls had arcades where you could play for hours? Hamilton Mall in Mays Landing, NJ still has one! Starcade has all of the classics like Robotron, Galaga and Burger Time, as well some vintage Star Wars video games and a nice collection of old Williams pinball machines. Starcade also offers console gaming. All games are set to free play so you can enjoy the arcade by the hour for a very low fee. 

One of the nation’s finest pinball arcades, Blizzard Mountain Pinball in Conifer, CO has a great mix of early solid state games, higher-end Bally and Williams games, premium Sterns, Jersey Jacks, and high-end older games like Addams Family, Medieval Madness, and Tales of the Arabian nights. All ages are welcome, but a parent must accompany children. Silverball Tavern is also a host of The New England Pinball League and tournaments. 

Super Abari Game Bar in Charlotte, NC is a barcade with a portal to the past for adult “kids.” More than 90 arcade games are arranged around a display of screens playing 80s movies. Drop some quarters into more than 30 pinball machines like Indiana Jones, Halloween, Willy Wonka, Creature from the Black Lagoon and Stranger Things. This modern spot serves craft beers and cocktails and is almost exclusively 21+ with the exception of noon to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Free Play Pinball Arcade in Fraser, MI is an excellent, medium-sized classic video and pinball arcade that is family-friendly and serves a little alcohol. Pay one price and play all of the arcade blockbusters from the late 70s and 80s, with the exception of Hercules – the largest pinball machine ever made and one of only about 10 machines still in circulation. QuarterWorld Arcade is a barcade in Portland, Oregon with the second largest collection of pinball machines in the city. They have 32 pinball games on location, with a selection that includes games like The Addam's Family, Batman '66 and Iron Man. In addition to pinball, they also have over 50 classic arcade games featuring titles like Marvel vs. Capcom, NBA Jam, Pac-Man and others. If you're looking for something different to do, they also have other fun games like Dance Dance Revolution, basketball, and skee ball. QuarterWorld has 2 full bars if you get thirsty, with a focus on cocktails and draft beer. They also serve American pub food like burgers and pizza. QuarterWorld is 21+ except for Saturdays and Sundays between 1pm and 7pm. And yes, they take quarters.

Located in a century-old bank, Morristown Game Vault in Morristown, NJ treats gaming like treasure. Inside the vault are classic arcade games from Donkey Kong to Pacman and a rotating collection of pinball machines. In the safe deposit box you’ll find PlayStation and Nintendo consoles and around each corner, more hidden gems. Game Vault charges an hourly rate and games are set to free play or join a weekly pinball tournament.

RLM Amusements is an arcade and pinball repair and sales store. They also run weekly pinball tournaments. They are open on Thursdays and Saturdays and have unlimited play for $10. The pinball collection is about 20 machines and includes the latest games from Stern. They also have classic arcade games and air hockey. They do not serve drinks or food, but you can bring in your own. 

The Garcade in Menomonee Falls, WI is a massive homage to classic gaming built for family fun. This retro arcade and pinball hall has over 150 video games, 30 pinball machines, air hockey, dance and rhythm machines, foosball and more. Pay admission and play all day. Pinball and air hockey tournaments and DDR meetups. Wonder who plays at The Garcade? Just check out those high scores. 

If you’ve been itching to let your inner geek shine and enjoy some serious cidercade fun, Dallas is where you want to be! Cidercade Dallas is the original location of this Texas chain with multiple locations throughout the state. Alongside their craft cider made onsite and a selection of hard seltzers, you can challenge your friends and family at tons of retro and modern arcade games, plus 23 pinball machines. Food-wise, they don’t serve anything from the bar, but that doesn't mean you have to go hungry - you are welcome to bring your own snacks plus there are usually food trucks on site. Of course, cidercade isn’t complete without other entertainment: challenge someone in a game of skee ball, step mania x for DDR fans or shoot some hoops like an all-star on an arcade-style game. If you're over 21 years old, don't forget that cidercade is open after 8pm - perfect for late night players!

1984 Branson Arcade is an 80s-themed arcade with video games, pinball machines, foosball, and air hockey. The pinball collection has a variety of games from the 1980s. The $10 admission fee allows you to play video arcade games, but pinball requires quarters. 

8 Bit Arcade Bar in Renton, WA, is an awesome 80's vintage throwback arcade with iconic classic arcade games like Ms. Pacman, Galaga, Frogger, and Donkey Kong, as well as modern machines like Minecraft and Luigi’s Haunted Mansion, plus a rotating collection of pinball games. They also serve pizza, milkshakes, and cans of beer. 

Located in a quaint cottage, overlooking a beautiful, boulder-filled creek, Village Arcade in Pottstown, PA is an antique arcade with pinball from the 60’s and 70’s. All pinball machines are electromechanical and give you two games for a quarter. Be sure to bring some change, and why don’t you just try pressing play to see if anyone forgot to play their 2nd game? 

Billy's Midway Arcade in Hawthorne, NJ is a love letter to all kids who rushed to the arcade after school to spend a tiny fortune. From the vintage pinball machines to classic arcade games like Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, TRON, Donkey Kong, and just when you think you've got your fill, there is a super cool back room where you can play tabletop games like Risk or Dungeons & Dragons and vintage consoles like Atari and Sega. With regular game release parties, tournaments, and other fun events, Logan Arcade ensures a great experience no matter what your skill level may be. All pinball machines are very well-maintained - especially for a public location - so you can feel confident regardless of what machine you choose. What's more, Logan Arcade also has a few retro arcade games on offer so there's definitely something for everyone here - just remember that Logan Arcade is strictly 21+ only!

Timeline Arcade is the place to step back in time with over 300+ video arcade games and pinball machines. The overall selection of pinball machines includes both old and new games. They have retro decor and also have a pool table. They do allow BYOB after 7 pm. Timeline Arcade is $10 per hour and $5 for each additional hour. They do have a $25 all-day pass. Children are welcome but must have a parent present in the facility. 

Houston? We have an enormous arcade. The Game Preserve NASA in Webster, TX, is a large space-themed retro arcade with a pay-one-price system and a ton of retro video games and a few pinball machines from the last 30 years. They also have a good selection of candy, light snacks, and drinks, but also allow you to bring food in or BYOB.

Wedgehead is a barcade in Portland Oregon that boasts an extensive rotating pinball collection. They keep around 20 games on location at any given time but have a selection of over 150 machines to rotate from. Games are set to free play with your admission fee, so you can play all day if you want (plus they allow ins and outs). If you're looking to compete, they host a casual weekly pinball tournament format called Howdy Pardner!

Unlike some of the other more popular arcades in Portland and elsewhere, Wedgehead focuses exclusively on pinball machines, so no video games or other arcade machines to district you from your intended purpose. They offer a food menu to go with your beverages that features items like burgers, sandwiches, burritos and shareable appetizers. Customers rave about the food and quality of the pinball machines at Wedgehead. If you love pinball and good food, Wedgehead is the place for you! Note - Wedghead becomes a 21+ adults only establishment after 6pm every night.

At Quarter-up, people of all ages enjoy the games and good food.

Arcade Monsters in Melbourne is the newest and largest Arcade Monsters location, with over 13,000 square feet. It has a restaurant, bar, pinball, pool tables, rhythm games, retro classic video arcade games, and driving, shooting, and fighting games. All games are on Free Play with one low price per person. The kitchen includes slushies, craft drinks, beer, and wine. 

Princess in another castle? You finally found it! Another Castle: Arcade Edition – a video game store and coin-op arcade with classic arcade and pinball machines in Edmonds, WA has all of Mario’s friends, plus classic arcade games, Japanese imported games, and a solid collection of classic and modern pinball. Another Castle is an old school arcade with a cooler full beer, soda, and a few snacks. Play some Dance Dance Revolution, Mrs. Pacman, or Super Mario Bros pinball and be sure to ask about tournaments. This is a great spot to bring the kids!

I/O Arcade Bar is Madison, WI’s place for drinkers with a gaming problem. I/O has a large selection of video and pinball games, including Deadpool and Godzilla Premium, all run on quarters, or choose from a library of board games. I/O is a 21+ venue but hosts all-ages hours every Sunday from 11 am to 1 pm.

Arcade Odyssey is a top-rated arcade experience with recognizable classics like PacMan and asteroids, modern titles like Mario Kart and Dance Dance Revolution, extremely rare games like Meltdown and Aarr Technologies’ Jet-Ball and unique imported Japanese arcade games. A whole row of Candy cabinets keep the games fresh and the back of the arcade is a Lan Center PC setup where regular gaming tournaments take place. YESTERcades is an entertainment venue that has classic arcade games with some modern gaming mixed in. They also have air hockey tables, pool tables, and skee ball. YESTERcade is unlimited play for 9.25 per hour or $25 per day. It is also a BYOB Thursday - Sunday. 

Cidercade Houston features over 275+ new and retro games. The variety of games includes classic, fighting, shooting, driving, sports, and pinball games. They have 15+ newer pinball games. Cidercade also has air hockey, ping pong tables, and skee ball. They offer unlimited play for $10. Of course, Cidercade offers a variety of hard ciders. They do not have food but often have food trucks. They are family-friendly during the day but 21+ after 8 pm. 

If you're planning a trip to Surprise, Arizona, there's a must-see spot you don't want to miss - Player 1 Arcade! With 16 pinball machines, plus a large selection of retro arcade and video games like NBA Jam and Space Invaders, it's a pinball and retro gaming paradise. The knowledgeable staff are always on hand to help with any pinball or technical issues. Visitors can try out the full bar that offers craft beer on tap as well as cocktails and wine. Just note that while usually family friendly, Player 1 Arcade becomes a 21+ venue on Friday & Saturday nights after 7pm. They do hold pinball tournaments and are family-friendly until 8 pm. Also, games are free to play with a $10 admission for adults and $5 for children. The Basement Arcade Bar offers a full bar, including cider, craft, domestic, and imports. They do not serve food but have snacks in a vending machine and are close to restaurants. 

The Flipside has your favorite pinball and arcade games. They have video arcade games, skee ball, and air hockey. In addition, they have about 20+ pinball machines, including the Addams Family, Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, South Park, and Taxi. The Flipside is family-friendly and has a full bar with 90 spirits, local and craft beers on tap, frozen drinks, and non-stop free snacks. They are currently closed on Wednesdays for private events. 

Level Up Arcade has over 90 video arcades and pinball games. In addition to pinball machines, they have group party games, drivers, shooters, golf, and more. They have 16 taps of microbrews, fresh cocktails, food, and a DJ every Friday and Saturday night. They are 21+ after 9 pm but family-friendly during the day. 

If you’re not afraid of clowns, you’ll love Shorty’s in Seattle, WA. Shorty’s is a whimsical, circus-themed pinball arcade featuring old school arcade games like Joust and Galaga, and a rotating lineup of pinball machines. Shorty’s is probably the only place in the world where it is acceptable to set a drink on a pinball table – the booth’s table, not the cabinet tables. Shorty’s serves a great hot dog and a full bar to anyone who’s over 21.
