About Maquinas Recreativas Sociedad Anonima
Maquinas Recreativas Sociedad Anonima (commonly known as Maresa) was a Madrid-based Spanish manufacturer of electromechanical pinball and amusement machines active from about 1960 to 1976, with the company name standing for MAquinas REcreativas Sociedad Anonima and a focus on supplying vintage pinball tables to the Spanish and wider European market. Many of Maresa’s early releases included King Ball and Boxing and its later titles included western-themed Laramie; several of its machines were closely based on or adapted from popular Gottlieb designs such as Big Brave and Crescendo, reflecting the company’s practice of producing locally tailored versions of successful layouts. Today Maresa machines are prized by collectors and restoration enthusiasts for their classic electromechanical engineering, distinctive Spanish artwork and rarity, with surviving models like Chamonix, Spin Out, Laramie and Big Brave appearing in museums and vintage arcade collections.
