Welcome back to another episode of the Data East Time Machine restoration! 🔧🕹️ Believe it or not, we're actually making some serious progress this time! No kidding! In Episode 7, I plow ahead with the playfield restoration and finally finish cleaning up the playfield. With that job out of the way, it's time to start putting some things back together. First up, I take the star posts and give them a proper cleanup in the ultrasonic cleaner before reinstalling them. Then I move on to installing LEDs in the playfield's general illumination and the back glass. It's amazing what a difference a little lighting can make! I also get the majority of the playfield rubbers installed, so we're really starting to see things come together. But wait… what's that smell? 🔥 Of course, it wouldn't be a restoration project without a little excitement. This time, I break out the Dremel to try and remove a stubborn screw. Things get a little interesting with a spectacular combination of sparks, flames, and smoke. Nothing to see here, folks! Just a perfectly normal day in the pinball workshop. 😂 Thankfully, no major disasters, and we get a LOT accomplished! 🔧 **In this episode:** - Finishing the playfield cleaning - Cleaning the star posts in the ultrasonic cleaner - Reinstalling the star posts - Installing LED general illumination in the playfield - Installing LEDs in the back glass - Installing the majority of the playfield rubbers - Breaking out the Dremel to tackle a stubborn screw - An unexpected light show featuring sparks, flames, and smoke!
