This Pinball Machine Kicked My Ass! | The Only Star Wars: Fall of the Empire in The UK!

In this video, I get my first proper look at Stern Pinball's Star Wars: Fall of the Empire, the second Star Wars pinball machine designed by John Borg for Stern. I take a quick tour around the machine, give you my first impressions and then step up to play a couple of games. And that's where things get difficult… This game is FAST. Really fast. My first few attempts were absolutely brutal, but there's clearly a lot to discover here and I'm looking forward to spending more time with it. Star Wars: Fall of the Empire wasn't officially released in the UK or Europe, making this an incredibly rare machine over here — and this particular game is currently the only one in the UK. The good news is that you can actually play it yourself at Pinball Republic in Croydon. Transforming a 30-Year-Old Pinball Machine Display Into Full Color

Indiana Jones: The Pinball Adventure originally uses a single color plasma dot matrix display. It's time to replace it with a ColorDMD, transforming the game’s animations from a single color into full RGB. If you’ve ever wondered what it takes to convert a classic DMD pinball machine to full color, this covers the process from the original display removal to the finished result. IMPORTANT!!!! ColorDMD doesn’t clearly state on their site that the USB drive needs to use an MBR partition table, not GUID/GPT. If it’s formatted as GUID, the system may not recognize the drive at all. I’d recommend confirming the drive is MBR and creating a small 4–8 GB FAT32 partition to maximize compatibility. 🎰 GRASLEY GARAGE UPDATE! Stargazer, Harlem Globetrotters & A MONOPOLY MASTERPIECE! 🎰 It’s time for another trip to the Grasley Garage, and Kevin has been BUSY! There’s a lot happening in the shop, with multiple pinball projects moving forward. First up, we check out the start of the Stargazer playfield swap. The project is underway, but while Kevin waits for some parts to arrive, he decides to tackle another major project — a complete playfield swap on Harlem Globetrotters! 🏀 That restoration is getting very close to the finish line, and it’s looking fantastic. But the real showstopper is the Monopoly restoration! 🎩💰 This machine has been completely transformed, including a very cool and unusual powder-coating colour choice inspired by the Monopoly game board. That unique green really makes the metalwork stand out! Once everything is assembled, this Monopoly is looking absolutely incredible. Add in the new cabinet decals, colour DMD, upgraded components, and a pile of other improvements and accents, and this machine has gone from restoration project to full-blown Monopoly masterpiece! There’s lots of awesomeness— inside AND outside — and plenty of pinball goodness to check out. Come along for another tour of the Grasley Garage and see how these restorations are coming together!
