The Stern "Pirates of the Caribbean" pinball machine, released in 2006, draws on the excitement of the first two films in the popular franchise. This pinball machine features engaging gameplay mechanics such as a mechanical pirate ship that players strike to lower its sails and eventually sink, revealing a shot into the Kraken’s mouth. The playfield also includes a spinning disc representing Tortuga or Port Royal, and a Dead Man's Chest that opens to initiate multiball modes.
