Update 2/27: The Godfather has been confirmed to be the next pinball machine from Jersey Jack, coming in March 2023.
The Godfather is a crime film series directed by Francis Ford Coppola and based on the novel of the same name by Mario Puzo. The series consists of three films: The Godfather (1972), The Godfather Part II (1974), and The Godfather Part III (1990). The films tell the story of the Corleone family, a powerful Italian-American mafia clan, and their patriarch, Vito Corleone (Marlon Brando). The first film follows the rise of Vito's son, Michael (Al Pacino), as the head of the family after his father's retirement and eventual assassination. The second film explores the background of the characters, particularly the early life of Vito and the rise of Michael as the head of the family. The third film concludes the story of the Corleone family and Michael's attempt to legitimize the family's business.
The Godfather films are widely considered to be some of the greatest films in the history of cinema. The first two films in the series were both critically acclaimed and commercially successful, with the first film winning the Academy Award for Best Picture, and both films winning multiple other awards. The third film was also successful, though it received less critical acclaim. The series is known for its iconic performances by Marlon Brando and Al Pacino, as well as its masterful storytelling, cinematography, and musical score. The Godfather films have had a significant impact on popular culture and have been widely referenced and parodied in various media.
