BARN FIND WHIRLWIND! Rust, Rodents & A MILLION Pieces Of Glass!

Video

Summary

Pinball Shenanigans tears down a rodent-infested barn-find Williams Whirlwind and reports it mostly dead on power-up.

Mike Dymus of Pinball Shenanigans documents the restoration assessment of a barn-find Williams Whirlwind bought by Kevin for about $1,500 (Mike disputes the price, suggesting $100). The machine shows severe rust, rodent nesting, mud, and missing parts, and powering it on causes a blown fuse and failed general illumination. The video also teases an arcade Kiss playfield project and a Fork River tournament timer mishap.

From the creator

Welcome to the Grasley Garage, where Kevin has once again acquired something that most sane people would run away from screaming! 😂 This time, it's a fresh barn find Williams Whirlwind pinball machine that has clearly spent a little too much quality time with Mother Nature… and possibly an entire family of rodents! We're talking SERIOUS rust, dirt, debris, hay, a beetle or two, and some lovely evidence that other critters have been using this classic pinball machine as their own personal luxury condominium. 🐀🪲 And just when we thought things couldn't get any worse, we discover a sparkling pile of diamonds! 💎 Well… not exactly. It's actually the remains of the original playfield glass, shattered into approximately one million tiny pieces. Nothing says exciting restoration project quite like a box full of broken glass! In this episode, we give our unfortunate patient a thorough inspection, check out all the bumps, bruises, corrosion, and questionable surprises, and try to figure out just how bad things really are. But eventually, we reach the moment of truth… DO WE DARE PLUG IT IN? ⚡ Will this Whirlwind roar back to life? Will the lights come on? Will the coils fire? Or will we be treated to a spectacular electrical fireworks display followed by the smell of expensive regret? We call this project WHIRLWIND: THE TOTAL DISASTER! Join us at Grasley Garage for another adventure filled with pinball archaeology, questionable decisions, rusty surprises, and plenty of shenanigans. 👍 If you enjoy vintage pinball, barn finds, restorations, repairs, and watching two guys willingly take on machines that probably should come with a hazmat warning, hit that LIKE button! 💬 THE BIG QUESTION: Would you plug this thing in, or would you run away and pretend you never saw it?
