I am using a home made device that im calling a Zamboni to clear coat a pinball machine playfield using varathane. Cheap, effective and something you can do inside.
Mirror details on a pinball machine grab a potential players attention and when I was asked to revive a Gottlieb Charlie's Angels back glass i said why not. Follow along the transformation is incredible.
Lets look at a contested and dare I say controversial way of removing spiral nails from a pinball machine or any plywood surface. Quick, clean and easy. Original video's posted below that started all the consternation.
Lets repurpose windows into beautiful back pinball glasses. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! Each back glass took around 45 minutes to complete.
Lets dial in some drop targets to increase reliability and performance. Works with any brand of pinball machine from Bally to Gottlieb Williams and so on. If you have sticky drops, inconsistent scoring or just plain problems this might help your cause.
This might be the issue if your pop bumpers dont pop!

Some restorers use an oven, others use pieces of glass and the sun... i simply use a heat gun and a flat surface!
So i cant find a part to fix a game so came up with a solution using modern parts that were not available back in the day. Is this a hack? Follow along as I work on a Bally Elektra pinball machine and fix the lower general illumination TRIAC problem.
