Why do pinball guys always rag on their wives?

TL;DR

Tim Sexton examines pinball's 'wife' meme as male bonding ritual, misogyny, and conscience proxy.

This humorous video essay breaks down and analyzes various examples of casual sexism in the pinball hobby by men and women who regularly refer to - the wife - a character who exists to promote male bonding in a male-dominated hobby: collecting pinball machines. The video is broken up into a 6 question structure. Who, what, when, where, and why is the wife? With the final question being: how do we destroy the wife. Since some posts about the wife are time while others are extremely hostile, different moods are established through the video essay to highlight the range in town that can be found throughout these posts and how they ultimately all funnel into negative feedback loops of unbridled anger. ~~~~~~~~ Social Media Links ~~~~~~~~ tiktok.com/timballs twitch.tv/timballs

TL;DR

Tim Sexton ranks 1970s pinball's worst machines by gameplay and design quality.

In my opinion, these are the 10 worst mass-produced solid state pinball machines released in the 1970s. Pinball machines can be bad for a variety of reasons. In the 1970s, with limited early solid state technology most of these games just come down to bad playfields, bad themes, and bad art. These are games with very few redeeming features about them.
