This weekend, I head down to Maple Pinball in Mississauga for an action-packed weekend of competitive pinball! With three different tournaments over the course of the weekend, there was plenty of pinball to play, competition to watch, and machines to get my hands on. I also take you on a quick tour of Maple Pinball and show off their incredible collection of around 70 machines—everything from classics to modern titles. I'll talk a little about the tournament formats, the machines I played, some of the highlights from the weekend, and what it's like competing in a room with this many great games. Whether you're into competitive pinball, collecting machines, or just love seeing a room packed with pinball, there's plenty here to check out! Three tournaments. 70 machines. One very busy weekend of pinball! 😄

Twilight Zone Pinball New clock board troubleshooting

I recently purchased two brand new Twilight zone clock boards from Pinball Haus in Australia. I installed the first board and I was having troubles. It was not working as it should. I talked to Bakak of Pinball Haus and he has been very helpful in trying to get to the bottom of this and has been in communications with the manufacturer. The manufacturer suggested that it might be an issue with the machine and not the board itself. I do not have any other issues with the machine. It is working as it should and the clock was the last thing on the list of things to get working. The second clock board was for my friend but I borrowed it back off of him as he had not installed it yet. I just installed the second clock board to determine if it was a clock board issue or a machine issue. With the second clock board installed I have found that the clock will work for a short period of time and then it just spontaneously crashes and the credit dot pops up. ("clock is broken") If I turn off the machine for a little bit and then power the machine back on the credit dot disappears and the clock starts working as it should until of course it crashes shortly thereafter. I have tested the various clock modes and have seen the clock function in these modes as it should but again shortly thereafter the clock just stops working and the credit dot appears during mid game. Any suggestions are welcome!

PANTHERA FINALLY HAS SOUND… SORT OF! 😳 + THE ADDAMS FAMILY ARRIVES!

Today’s episode is a classic case of “Well… technically, it works!” 😂 I dive back into the Gottlieb Panthera and, after plenty of troubleshooting, finally manage to get the sound working! 🎉 The only problem? It sounds absolutely horrendous. But hey… sound is sound, right? 🤣 We’ll take the victory where we can get it! Then my buddy JC shows up with something a little more exciting — my Addams Family! 🖤 The machine is an absolutely stunning Grasley Garage restoration, and it looks INCREDIBLE. We get it set up, admire all the beautiful work, and of course, we have to play a quick game. And because this is Pinball Shenanigans, naturally things don't go according to plan. 😆 The Addams Family plays beautifully… right up until it decides that “Game Over” isn't enough and proceeds to crash and die on us! 💀🎃 🔧 Panthera troubleshooting 🔊 Panthera sound… technically 😂 Horrendous Gottlieb audio 🖤 A gorgeous fully restored Addams Family 🏠 A fresh setup at the garage 🎮 A quick game 💥 And, of course, an unexpected pinball machine meltdown Two machines. Two very different problems. One episode of Shenanigans. The Grasley Garage! LORD OF THE RINGS! Sea Hunt, Harlem, Abra Ca Dabra & Monopoly progress!

Today is a BIG pinball day! 🎉 Kevin and Dutch come over to pick up my Lord of the Rings pinball machine as part of a trade for The Addams Family! We load up Lord of the Rings and take it over to the Grasley Garage, where we get it set up. While we’re there, we take a look around at all the incredible pinball projects currently underway. Dutch has been making great progress on the Sea Hunt by Allied Leisure — one of the quirkiest shaker pinball machines ever made. These machines are pretty rare, and it’s always cool to see one being brought back to life! 🦈🌊 We also check out the progress on several other projects: 🔨 Abra ca dabra — the cabinet stencil job is coming along beautifully 🏀 Harlem Globetrotters — cabinet stencil work is done 💰 Monopoly — new decals have been installed and it’s looking amazing 🎰 Plus plenty of other pinball goodness around the garage! It’s always a dangerous trip to the Grasley Garage because there are so many incredible machines and restorations to check out. 😆 Come along as Lord of the Rings finds its new home and we tour the latest projects at the Grasley Garage!

THE NICEST VAMPIRE PINBALL MACHINE ON THE PLANET?! Rocky & Bullwinkle is FINISHED!

Grazley Garage completes restoration #140: a pristine 1971 Vampire after extensive cabinet repair and hand-painting.

It’s another trip to the Grasley Garage, and this time there are some SERIOUSLY beautiful pinball machines waiting for us! 🤩🕹️ The Blue Rocky & Bullwinkle is officially finished, and WOW… this restoration turned out incredible! We take a close look at the finished machine, fire it up, and play a game to see how it looks and plays after all the work. But then things get REALLY interesting… 🧛‍♂️ VAMPIRE! 🧛‍♂️ This super-rare pinball machine has undergone an absolutely stunning high-end restoration, and the finished product is nothing short of spectacular. In fact, this may very well be the nicest Vampire pinball machine on the planet! We put a game on it and check out all the incredible details that went into bringing this rare machine back to life. And there’s even more Shenanigans in the garage! 📦 We crack open a box of Twilight Zone parts shipped all the way from Australia and see what treasures are inside. 👀 Plus, there’s a brand-new sign in the garage that we have to check out! Panthera Pinball Sound is Fighting Back! 😡🔊 Can I Get This Thing Working? Mars God of War is ready!

TL;DR

Panthera sound and prepping Mars God of War for sale with detailed diagnostics.

Panthera pinball is supposed to make noise… but apparently somebody forgot to tell the sound system! 😂 I head over to the garage with one goal: get Panthera’s sound working once and for all so I can get this stubborn machine into functional condition and eventually get it ready for sale. Unfortunately, Panthera has other plans. After replacing bad diodes, repairing the volume control wiring, trying another sound board, and doing plenty of head scratching, the game is STILL refusing to cooperate. 🤦‍♂️ My bigger goal is to get both Panthera and Mars God of War working properly so I can get them ready to sell. Mars is behaving itself… Panthera, not so much. Will I finally hear some glorious Gottlieb sound effects? Or will Panthera continue to sit there in complete silence while I question every decision that led me to this machine? 😂 🔧 The battle continues!

Oops... Part 3 Comes After Part 4! Pinball Play Tests & Eerie Orange Skies!

TL;DR

Vintage pinball restoration and gameplay testing amid wildfire conditions.

Well... I accidentally uploaded Part 1, 2 and Part 4 before this one, so here's the missing Part 3 of the series! 😄 In this episode, I head back over to the garage to inspect, troubleshoot, and play test several of the pinball machines we're working on. I spend some time with Nightmare on Elm Street, Tri Zone, and Mars God of War to see how they're playing after getting everything hooked up. I also take another crack at bringing the sound back to Panthera, but unfortunately I wasn't able to get it working. It looks like the sound board is going to need some bench work before I can return to the machine and continue the repair. As if that wasn't enough, something outside caught my attention. The sky had taken on a strange orange-yellow glow, so I stepped outside to investigate. It turns out the smoke from the Ontario wildfires had transformed the sky into an eerie orange landscape. It was surreal to see in person and definitely something I wasn't expecting while working on pinball machines.

2023 Alien Pinball * Ripley Version * Worst Gameplay Video EVER!

Is this the worst pinball gameplay video on YouTube? It just might be! 😂 In this video, I play the 2023 Alien Ripley Edition by Pinball Brothers for the very first time. With absolutely no experience on the game, I jump in for 5–6 games... and let's just say things don't exactly go according to plan. Expect plenty of missed shots, short ball times, questionable decisions, and more drains than I'd like to admit. If you're looking for world-class gameplay, you've definitely come to the wrong place! 😆 Even though my skills leave a lot to be desired, the Alien Ripley Edition is an incredible machine, and it was a blast getting my first taste of this modern sci-fi pinball experience.
