The Addams Family Goes to Alberta! Epic Pinball Room Tour, Power Outage & A ride in a V12 Jaguar!

The Addams Family is hitting the road! 🚚 In this episode of Pinball Shenanigans, I load up my Addams Family pinball machine and head out to my friend Rob Noel's place, where he's going to get it packed up and ready for its journey all the way to Alberta! During the drive, I tell the full story behind this Addams Family, including how I ended up with it and how it eventually came to be making this long-distance trip. Once I arrive at Rob's place, things get REALLY interesting. Rob gives me a tour of his absolutely EPIC games room, packed with some serious A-list pinball machines, along with a bunch of incredibly cool and unusual vintage games. We're talking shuffle pool, gun games, and all kinds of oddball arcade treasures you don't see every day! The tour is going great... until suddenly... THE POWER GOES OUT! 😱😂 Fortunately, the Pinball Shenanigans camera crew comes prepared! My camera has a light, so the show must go on as we explore a little more of Rob's collection in the darkness. And just when you think the Shenanigans are over, Rob takes me out for a quick cruise in his 1989 Jaguar 12-cylinder convertible. What a BEAUTY! So we've got pinball, vintage arcade games, a power outage, an Addams Family road trip and a V12 Jaguar all in one episode! Come along for the ride and, as always, expect some Pinball Shenanigans!

The Addams Family DMD Swap Goes WRONG! 😱 Plus a brief Look at Gottlieb 007 Backglass!

The Addams Family DMD Swap Goes WRONG! 😱 More Pinball Shenanigans! The Color DMD is coming OUT of The Addams Family! In this episode, I pull the Color DMD and install a new old-stock original DMD display—but, of course, things don't go exactly as planned! 😅 I run into a few troubles along the way and have to do some troubleshooting to figure out what's going on. Come along as I battle through another repair, chase down the problems, and hopefully get everything working properly. And while we're at it, we take a quick look at the newly installed back glass on my Gottlieb James Bond 007 project machine. It definitely gives the old girl a whole new look! More repairs, more troubleshooting, more pinball—and, of course, more Shenanigans!

Part 9: 1977 Allied Leisure Getaway * Display Drama!

The 1977 Allied Leisure Getaway project continues in Part 9, and this time the battle is with the displays! 😤 The displays aren't working, and to make matters worse, they're not even getting the voltage they need. So naturally, it's time to start chasing voltages, checking bridge rectifiers, poking around the power circuits, and generally creating the perfect recipe for more Pinball Shenanigans! Thankfully, Corey Cooke from London Pinball lends a hand as we try to track down exactly where the display voltage is disappearing. We dig into the power supply, test those bridge rectifiers, follow the voltages, and eventually...... Will we finally get the displays alive again? Or will the Getaway continue to fight back? Come along for another episode of troubleshooting, testing, head-scratching, and hopefully a little progress on this very interesting Allied Leisure machine!

Panthera: The Drop Target Dance Battle & Gottlieb James Bond 007 Project Set up!

The battle with Gottlieb Panthera continues… and unfortunately, Panthera appears to be winning! 😂 In this episode of Pinball Shenanigans, I continue troubleshooting this stubborn machine as it throws all kinds of strange behavior at me — including a particularly entertaining drop target dance that definitely isn't supposed to happen! But while Panthera is busy testing my patience, a new project 1980 Gottlieb James Bond 007 gets set up. This is a pretty unusual Gottlieb game because it uses a time-based scoring system rather than traditional ball play. It's definitely an oddball, and that's exactly why I had to take a closer look. We get the James Bond 007 project machine set up and take a tour around the outside, inside, guts, electronics, playfield, and some of the awesome artwork. This machine has some seriously cool artwork and a very interesting history. Then comes the big moment… Will James Bond 007 have any signs of life? Well… let's just say the excitement was slightly premature. 😆 I turn it on for the first time and, unfortunately, all we get is… TWO LIGHT BULBS. Yep. That's it. 😂 So we've got another project on our hands! Join me for more repairs, weird pinball behavior, questionable decisions, and plenty of Pinball Shenanigans! 👍 If you enjoy the video, hit LIKE 💬 Let me know what you think of the James Bond 007 and what you think is going on with Panthera!

The Grasley Garage! 9-Ball Marketplace Score! Congo Arrives & Sea Hunt Gets Rescued!

It’s another day of Pinball Shenanigans at the Grasley Garage, and apparently the machines have decided they’re going to fight back. 😂 There’s a LOT happening in this one! First up, we check out a brand-new Marketplace score: a Stern 9-Ball pinball machine. It looks like a pretty sweet pickup… until we try to get it working. 9-Ball proves to be a stubborn little beast, but with some help from Corey Cooke of London Pinball, we manage to bring it back to life to some degree. It’s definitely not giving up without a fight! We also check out the new Congo, which was traded for Kevin’s World Cup Soccer. Congo is looking fantastic, and we give it a play test. It’s playing MEAN—but in the best possible way! 🔥 Then there’s the real oddball of the bunch: an Allied Leisure Sea Hunt. This is a seriously weird and interesting pinball machine, and Corey dives into it to see if we can get the thing functioning properly. Somehow, he works his magic and gets Sea Hunt pretty darn functional, allowing us to actually give it a proper play test. 🎱 Stern 9-Ball — Marketplace score and a stubborn repair 🌋 Congo — New arrival and a brutal play test 🌊 Allied Leisure Sea Hunt — An incredibly oddball pinball machine gets some love 🔧 Corey Cooke of London Pinball lends a hand with the repairs 🎮 Plenty of testing, troubleshooting, questionable decisions and pinball shenanigans! Will 9-Ball cooperate? Will Sea Hunt survive? Will Congo destroy us? There’s only one way to find out!

PART 1: Twilight Zone Pinball New clock board troubleshooting

I recently purchased two brand new Twilight zone clock boards from Pinball Haus in Australia. I installed the first board and I was having troubles. It was not working as it should. I talked to Bakak of Pinball Haus and he has been very helpful in trying to get to the bottom of this and has been in communications with the manufacturer. The manufacturer suggested that it might be an issue with the machine and not the board itself. I do not have any other issues with the machine. It is working as it should and the clock was the last thing on the list of things to get working. The second clock board was for my friend but I borrowed it back off of him as he had not installed it yet. I just installed the second clock board to determine if it was a clock board issue or a machine issue. With the second clock board installed I have found that the clock will work for a short period of time and then it just spontaneously crashes and the credit dot pops up. ("clock is broken") If I turn off the machine for a little bit and then power the machine back on the credit dot disappears and the clock starts working as it should until of course it crashes shortly thereafter. I have tested the various clock modes and have seen the clock function in these modes as it should but again shortly thereafter the clock just stops working and the credit dot appears during mid game. Any suggestions are welcome!

Today’s episode is a classic case of “Well… technically, it works!” 😂 I dive back into the Gottlieb Panthera and, after plenty of troubleshooting, finally manage to get the sound working! 🎉 The only problem? It sounds absolutely horrendous. But hey… sound is sound, right? 🤣 We’ll take the victory where we can get it! Then my buddy JC shows up with something a little more exciting — my Addams Family! 🖤 The machine is an absolutely stunning Grasley Garage restoration, and it looks INCREDIBLE. We get it set up, admire all the beautiful work, and of course, we have to play a quick game. And because this is Pinball Shenanigans, naturally things don't go according to plan. 😆 The Addams Family plays beautifully… right up until it decides that “Game Over” isn't enough and proceeds to crash and die on us! 💀🎃 🔧 Panthera troubleshooting 🔊 Panthera sound… technically 😂 Horrendous Gottlieb audio 🖤 A gorgeous fully restored Addams Family 🏠 A fresh setup at the garage 🎮 A quick game 💥 And, of course, an unexpected pinball machine meltdown Two machines. Panthera Pinball Sound is Fighting Back! 😡🔊 Can I Get This Thing Working? Mars God of War is ready!

TL;DR

Garage restoration: Panthera sound troubleshooting; Mars God of War ready for sale.

Panthera pinball is supposed to make noise… but apparently somebody forgot to tell the sound system! 😂 I head over to the garage with one goal: get Panthera’s sound working once and for all so I can get this stubborn machine into functional condition and eventually get it ready for sale. Unfortunately, Panthera has other plans. After replacing bad diodes, repairing the volume control wiring, trying another sound board, and doing plenty of head scratching, the game is STILL refusing to cooperate. 🤦‍♂️ My bigger goal is to get both Panthera and Mars God of War working properly so I can get them ready to sell. Mars is behaving itself… Panthera, not so much. Will I finally hear some glorious Gottlieb sound effects? Or will Panthera continue to sit there in complete silence while I question every decision that led me to this machine? 😂 🔧 The battle continues!

Oops... Part 3 Comes After Part 4! Pinball Play Tests & Eerie Orange Skies!

TL;DR

Vintage pinball restoration and gameplay testing amid wildfire conditions.

Well... I accidentally uploaded Part 1, 2 and Part 4 before this one, so here's the missing Part 3 of the series! 😄 In this episode, I head back over to the garage to inspect, troubleshoot, and play test several of the pinball machines we're working on. I spend some time with Nightmare on Elm Street, Tri Zone, and Mars God of War to see how they're playing after getting everything hooked up. I also take another crack at bringing the sound back to Panthera, but unfortunately I wasn't able to get it working. It looks like the sound board is going to need some bench work before I can return to the machine and continue the repair. As if that wasn't enough, something outside caught my attention. The sky had taken on a strange orange-yellow glow, so I stepped outside to investigate. It turns out the smoke from the Ontario wildfires had transformed the sky into an eerie orange landscape. It was surreal to see in person and definitely something I wasn't expecting while working on pinball machines.
