The battle with the Grand Lizard continues! 🦎⚡ In this episode of Pinball Shenanigans, I attempt to finally solve the mystery of the Grand Lizard's locked-on eye flashers. Armed with a replacement chip and what can only be described as questionable optimism, I replace a chip hoping to fix the problem once and for all. Spoiler alert: it didn't work. 😂 But wait! I wasn't done yet. I moved on to replace a different 6802 chip, and believe it or not... THAT actually stopped the flashers from locking on! 🎉 Forward progress, right?! Well... technically, yes. The flashers are no longer permanently locked on. Unfortunately, I still can't actually get them to FLASH. 🤦♂️ So I've successfully progressed from "always on" to "not on at all." That's progress in the world of vintage pinball repair... probably. 😂 Join me as I continue digging into the Grand Lizard, swapping chips, breaking out the troubleshooting skills, and trying to convince this machine that cooperation is a good idea. Will I finally get the flashers working? Will I discover another mysterious problem? Will I accidentally create three new problems while fixing one? You'll have to watch and find out! 🦎 The Grand Lizard refuses to go quietly!

They Remade One of the Greatest Pinball Machines Ever… Is It Any Good?

One of the most beloved Williams pinball machines of the 1990s is back! In this video I get my first proper look at Pedretti Gaming's Tales of the Arabian Nights Remake — and I absolutely love it. Originally released by Williams in 1996 and designed by John Popadiuk, Tales of the Arabian Nights has become a genuine pinball classic. Thirty years later, Pedretti Gaming, in partnership with Planetary Pinball Supply, has brought it back with modern electronics, enhanced lighting and visual effects while retaining the gameplay that made the original so special. I give you a detailed tour of the machine and playfield, looking at the famous Genie, spinning Magic Lamp, ramps, Bazaar, ball locks and magnetic features, as well as explaining some of the basic rules and what you're actually trying to achieve when you play. Then it's time to put some games on it and find out whether the new machine actually feels like Tales of the Arabian Nights. For me, Pedretti have absolutely nailed it. It's charming, beautiful to look at and, most importantly, it feels and plays like the original machine. If you already love Tales of the Arabian Nights, I think there's an awful lot to like here. The remake is available as a Legacy Edition, retaining the original 1996 artwork, and a limited 30th Anniversary Edition featuring completely new artwork from Brian Allen and Flyland Designs. Both versions include the original game code alongside Pedretti's enhanced code, with new DMD animations, atmospheric RGB lighting, FAST Pinball electronics and integrated Scorbit connectivity. Why Is This Toy Story Pinball Machine ONLY About Toy Story 4?
Toy Story 4 Pinball might be one of the strangest games in Jersey Jack Pinball history. Why did JJP build a machine based entirely on Toy Story 4 instead of using the entire Toy Story franchise? In Episode 14 of The Skill Shot, I take a deep dive into Jersey Jack Pinball’s 2022 Toy Story 4 — the Pat Lawlor-designed machine packed with carnival games, physical ball locks, the Duke Caboom jump ramp, the Take a Chance Wheel, and one of the most family-friendly layouts in modern pinball. We’ll look at the unusual history behind the machine, including reports that the game may have originally been designed around the first three Toy Story movies before production delays changed the plan. Then we tour the playfield, break down the rules and major shots, and talk about some of the classic Pat Lawlor ideas hidden inside the design — including callbacks to Red & Ted’s Road Show and No Good Gofers. And for gameplay, I’m playing against my mom… because this is actually HER pinball machine. Unlike most collectors who hide their games in a basement, she keeps Toy Story 4 right in the front room where everybody who visits can play it. Finally, Toy Story 4 gets the **Flip Score**: 🎯 Shots: 14/20 🧠 Code & Depth: 17/20 🧸 Theme: 19/20 🔧 Build Quality: 16/20 💰 Resale Value: 11/20 **TOTAL FLIP SCORE: 77/100** Toy Story 4 may not be the toughest Pat Lawlor game ever made, but if you want a pinball machine that kids, beginners, and experienced players can all enjoy, it makes a very strong case for itself. The seemingly endless stampede of new game releases continues. After multiple game announcements last month, we have another three to report this month. So, join Jonathan and Martin as they bring you all these details and much more in the latest August 2026 edition of the Pinball Industry News PINcast. This month’s PINcast was delayed by a few days in order to cover the reveal of Stern Pinball new Fallout game. Part cornerstone, part studio release, Fallout is the latest Keith Elwin design and takes elements from both the hugely popular computer game and also the Amazon TV series. The upper models incorporate both an upper playfield and a lower playfield, as well as a rocket launcher and opening vault door. All this comes at a cost though. So, find out what that is, where you can play it, and even where you can see Keith talk about the making of his new Fallout game. If Fallout is beyond your reach, Stern have also released a more affordable Home Edition Plus model of their Pokémon game for exclusive sale through Costco in the US, which seems to have been warmly received by those who played it. Having confirmed their plans to build it back in March, American Pinball have now revealed the first of their ‘reimagined’ remakes with their Cirqus Voltaire game. Available in Classic and enhanced Ringmaster editions, both models update the 1997 Bally classic with modern technology and assorted beautifying touches. They may have started making it a decade ago, but there’s life in The Big Lebowski yet, as a new Jesus Edition demonstrates. Themed around the purple-clad bowling nemesis, the limited run of 300 machines adds new gameplay features which will be rolled out to existing Lebowski machine owners. Last month’s PINcast covered the reveal of Barrels of Fun’s new Bon Jovi game, but this month the band’s three concerts at London’s Wembeley Stadium were the perfect excuse to bring the game to the UK, taking a detour via the UK Pinfest show. Martin was there and played it.
